Description
We will be touring several natural areas near the Prophet Aquatic Center near Emporia, KS.
Co-facilitators Courtney Masterson and Frank Norman will explain the key features to help you identify native plants in each of these systems. You will learn where each of these plants grows best, what services they offer within their native systems, how they might be useful as food or medicine for people or other wildlife, and how they might fit within your own local permaculture designs. We encourage participants to come dressed for a hike in hats, sturdy pants, and walking shoes or boots (no sandals). Bring along water, a portable snack, sunscreen, insect repellent, your camera, and a notebook.
