Upcoming Permaculture Teacher Training
Our summer Permaculture Design Course is full and has a waiting list. In response to expanding interest in permaculture, we are actively preparing to meet future demand for instruction. We hope to train new teachers and expand resources for existing instructors. Towards this goal, KPI is excited to bring Jude Hobbs to Kansas to offer a week-long intensive workshop about effective strategies for teaching permaculture. The Teacher Training is open to anyone who has completed a Permaculture Design Certification and is interested in becoming a permaculture instructor or enhancing their existing training skills.
Through Cascadia Permaculture Institute, based in Oregon, Jude Hobbs has offered over 30 courses for permaculture instructors. With knowledge about adult learning styles, she will demonstrate how to make our courses not only informative, but also engaging and focused on helping learners move from theory to practice.
Jude and her co-instructors use a combination of diverse teaching modalities, including effective use of lecture, storytelling, power points, structured discussion, small groups, interactive experiential activities, visual aids and hands-on experiences. These assist participants in gaining the tools needed to teach multiple ways of sharing information.
Registration and additional details about the content of the course are available here.
